So, I was on MySpace yesterday and there was a BULLETIN from my MySpace "friend" Gunther of the (unintentionally?) hilarious euro-music sensation GUNTHER AND THE SUNSHINE GIRLS. (Gunther and I are VERY close! I mean, he only has 32,669 MySpace friends...and he doesn't even know I'm alive!)

Anyway, the bulletin said that the campy singing star (O' come on! The John Waters moustache, the mullet, the endlessly puckered lips and the very idea that he thinks he's so sexy? HILARIOUS!!!) was going to be playing in Los Angeles! WHAT!!!???!!! This was a freak-fest I HAD to see!

I clicked on the link and found myself on a page where I could order tickets! YIPPIE! The tickets were only $20!!! Zowie! But when I looked at where he was playing, I saw it was...Where? Jimmy's Lounge in LA! Dang! I'd love to go, but... I just CAN'T that weekend.

I looked at Gunther's Web site (www.gunthernet.com) and saw his only other USA playdate was 2 days earlier in some rinky-dink town in Massachussetts. HUH? Apparently NO ONE has booked Gunther here. He played a college last year at Princeton in an outdoor concert--but...that's it. How sad! I'd LOVE to see Gunther and the Sunshine Girls! DANG!

Then i thought, Okay...maybe someone on here would know someone who knew someone who would/could book Gunther here locally. i mean, if he can play Jimmy's Lounge for $20 a pop, he can play a venue HERE, right?
