Beat the High Price of Gas!
2nd Annual Bike to Work Day Corporate Challenge to take place May 17, 2007
Burn calories, improve your cardiovascular fitness, build muscles, help the environment, and enjoy the outdoors all while saving money by participating in the 2nd Annual Bike to Work Day Corporate Challenge! Anyone can encourage their coworkers to bike as well to participate with other local employers and businesses in this fun and spirited competition.
As part of the Fresno County Bicycle Coalition's Bike to Work Week May 14-18, 2007, Fresno County bike commuters are set to compete as teams representing local employer-based organizations on Thursday May 17, 2007. Bike to Work activities are intended to promote bike commuting as a viable mode of transport in the Fresno-Clovis area. The Bike to Work Corporate Challenge encourages individuals to leave their cars at home for the day and ride their bikes to work, promoting more active lifestyles, reducing traffic congestion and keeping our community healthy. Bike commuter teams will compete for prizes and all registered individuals will be eligible for the commuter bike raffle and other raffle prizes. This year's raffle grand prize will be a Gary Fisher Monona Hybrid commuter bike courtesy of Tri-Sport Bicycles. Bike to Work Day Corporate Challenge Winners will be determined according to the number of riders and total miles ridden. Participation in the Bike to Work Day Corporate Challenge is free, and with internet registration, free bike tune-ups before the event, and free bus rides on FAX and Clovis Transit for commuters with bikes (great for participants traveling longer distances), it's easy to get involved.
