Fresno Cohousing Groundbreaking with music
After 2 and a half years of dreaming and planning, Fresno Cohousing will be breaking ground on Sunday, May 6 on our 28-home intergenerational earth-friendly neighborhood, and you are invited to the party. The groundbreaking ceremony will be at 1:00 on our property at 2658 East Alluvial Avenue, between Chestnut and Willow. This celebration of community will go on until 4:00, and there will be food, door prizes, children's activities, meet the architect and great music. Musicians include "Los Hooligans," a reggae band with members from Fresno and Los Angeles, with local keyboardist and lead vocalist 21-year old Max Bennett-Parker. In addition, the event will feature Fresno's Karen Marguth, a jazz singer who recently performed at the Rogue Festival. Karen will be backed up by members of "Stolen Thunder," a local band among whose members are Lorenzo Bassman, a future resident of the Fresno Cohousing Community. "Stolen Thunder" will perform on its own along with Fresno Cohousing members Scott Bentley, Bassman's son Jonah and Bentley's daughter Julia.
