We've noticed these alarming "X-marks-the-spot" signs nailed to various buildings downtown. That's 1725 Fulton, next door to Tokyo Garden in the photo, and we've seen them on the Hotel Fresno and Riviera Building as well. According to the nice lady who answers the phone at the Fresno Fire Department, they are "dangerous vacant building" markers. According to the National Fire Protection Association, fires in vacant buildings injure 6,000 firefighters a year nationwide. (Thanks, Kurt!)
