Have you checked out the Bee's new Fresno Crime Map? See crime data from the FPD plotted on a map, and search by address. Very cool. Right now it only has data from the last 24 hours or so, but it looks like historical searches are coming. Nice work.
Check out ChicagoCrime.org, the OG crime mapping site.

forget the office football pool...
... a weekly Fresno Crime Pool!
Joe: Hey Jack... you in this week?
Jack: Which section this week?
Joe: North of Shaw... West of Palm... for Tuesday.
Jack: What do you have left?
Joe: One left with 3 burglaries and 5 vehicle thefts...
Jack: For a Tuesday?
Joe: Yeah.
Jack: Dang... that's tough. Sure, why not? Here's my 5 bucks.
um...
can we request certain crimes for certain areas?
...(you know, just to make some areas a little more edgy,,, kinda like that black leather and boots look???)
...this could be a fashion statement...
more fun with crime
I like the map. I like to see if any of the crimes happened close to where I live. How much access should the public have to government operations? How far should transparency go? Too bad they don't have a place to comment right there on the page. It reminds me of the Megan's Law website.

aw, c'mon Anti...
...dude...
look, you love your bicycle,
and I love my bicycle...
But this 'hatred of cars,' thing has to stop,, man...
I mean,,,, serious...
Just because the crimes take place near the freeways and highways does NOT mean that they were committed by motorvehicles...
..seriously...
I checked this out, because I had to know...
and you know what???
'Christine,'
'Maximum Overdrive,'
'the Car,'
...even all of those 'Herbie the Love Bug,' movies...
fakes... it was all special effects...
'Kit,' from KnightRider??
-can't talk... he's just a butt-ugly camaro or firebird or something...
...sorry man.
cars and trucks can be cool too...
(just give them a try.... 'k??)
GTA - Fresno
notice how most of the crime is clustered near the highways/freeways.
cool...
It's like playing COPS: 'the home game...'
only, when I typed in my address, I got a stolen vehicle a bit north and west of me, but my house is green... which means 'theft,' so, my entire house is stolen...
-should I be worried?
-does this mean that my house is going to be joyrided around town, doing donuts in intersections, and left up against a tree or overpass embankment with the engine running and in 'D,' -so to wipe out the transmission?
(...are they going to put the house back where they found it? maybe repaint it and sell it for parts in another part of the country?
--is THAT why the foundations have been rebuilt inside themselves, and moved two feet to the left, (under the cover of darkness???)
I just hope my house stealer doesn't go too fast down the road, and, you know, try to evade the authorities... I'd hate to catch a bullet while hanging laundry out back... (I'd just bleed all over my stuff and have to wash it all over again, in cold water, you know, so as not to set the stain...)
(...how come my neighborhood doesn't have any cool crimes???, just a stolen house...)
excellent use of OG
