Chappell Winery 2004 Vintages
Grenache
A light fruity wine with a lot of different fruit flavors. It was fermented in open 100 gallon bins with about 10% whole berries. It was aged for about 18 months in American oak and bottled in March of 2006.
Chuston Cuvee
A dry very smooth blend of Cabernet Franc 50%, Cabernet Sauvignon 33%, and Syrah 17%. Cabernet Franc gives it its smoothness and some slight berry flavors, the Cabernet Sauvignon gives it complexity, and the Syrah adds a little bite to the back. It was aged more than 18 months in French oak and bottled in May of 2006.
Cabernet Sauvignon
A nice, complex but not over powering Cab. It was aged in French oak for over 18 months and bottled in May of 2006.
Clo De Allyce
A fruity and slightly sweet blend of 75% Grenache and 25% Syrah. It was made with a late harvest Grenache that had almost 1% residual sugar. This wine was also aged in American oak and bottled in March of 2006.
St. Frances 2002 Merlot
A varietals classic with distinctive Sonoma County style, it has spicy herb and vanilla overtones, which give way to full strong black fruit on the palate, nuanced with chocolate. Its round, generous tannins give it a big finish.
