Angie's Authentic Mexican Restaurant
May 20, 2007
Have you ever left Fresno and tried to find a good Mexican restaurant? It's so disheartening, I lived in Orange County for two years and found only one good Mexican restaurant. (Which, by the way, makes no sense being closer to the border and all...) For every sub-par Mexican eatery elsewhere, Fresno seems to have 10 great places. Well, 11 now counting the new Angie's, located at Weldon and Echo, right next to Javawava.
The menu at Angie's features Mexican favorites such as Nachos, Tortas and Burritos all at delightful prices- a meat Quesadilla is only 3.75- and it's made with a hand made tortilla! I was drooling just imagining the possibilities. My husband ordered Chile Verde and I got enchiladas. My dish was great, but was nothing compared to the flavorful chile verde I snuck off of his plate when he wasn't looking.
We just tried two of the menu items but were impressed and can't wait to go back for another round of food that is not at all weight watchers friendly. (The nachos looked awesome!)
Everything is served in styrofoam to-go boxes, so if you're environmentally conscious, beware that you'll get yourself worked into a tizzy. Of course, if you're that earth-aware (read: better than I am *hangs head in shame*) you probably won't be eating somewhere so meat-laden anyway.
Angies is avaliable for dine in, take out and catering. They're open 7 days a week from 8:00 AM-9:00 PM, and their breakfast menu looks rockin'. 559-237-5200. 608 E. Weldon Ave.
Disclosures:I am a beans and rice machine and I'm adding into my will to be baked into a gigantic Chile Relleno and buried in that instead of a coffin.
