Thank Goodness It's Fresno

The State has approved a Fresno County farm's ability to sell some sweet smelling bovine emissions to PG & E, so that you may bask in the cool glow of your air conditioner all summer long.
What to do tonight? Well there's the city's answer to downtown entertainment with "Happy Feet" at Eaton Plaza. The movie starts at dusk, but get there early to be treated to an episode of "In the Heat of the Night," starring (ok, starring in a supporting role) Mayor Bubba himself. We are not kidding. Then head to Club Fred for the Smog City Roller Grrls benefit show. Go SCRG!!!

We had a massive 'methane,' (human poop) to electric facility that was being designed to run off of the towns sewage facility... (the Masada project,)
AND
We had a massive landfill that ran two huge natural gas generators off of the vented gas from the various garbage levels... (and they weren't even really 'harnessing,' the gas, most of it was being fanned out and vented... They were always selling electricity back to the grid...
...you'd think with the overwhelming use of beans in folk's diets in these parts...

poop power
Sure, start with the cows. During the rolling blackouts a few years ago I was laughed at for bringing up the idea of poop power. Outfit our sewage plants with a methane harvester and bring down the power bills... crap for cash.
