Okay, here's the deal---
First, let me say thank you to Fresno Famous for guiding me toward something that resembles counterculture in Fresno (i.e. something that isn't the Wal-Mart shopping center or Edwards movie theater in North Fresno...) because of FresFame, I was able to track down Rademacher's show at Tokyo Garden the day after Thanksgiving and was able to escape my parents' house and also listen to some hot music.
So here's my story (I'm putting it all out there):
My parents moved to Fresno about a year and a half ago from San Diego (where I grew up). I live in LA (Hollywood) and am obliged to visit them at least every Thanksgiving, Christmas, and mother's day weekend. Sadly, I don't know anyone in the area and spend my time watching home decorating shows on HGTV and longing for local friends. I really have no idea where to go for fun stuff to do (although I suspect there's some choice antiquing to be done in the Clovis area...)
Therefore, I beg of you--- all of you-- please tell me what you know. Where can I buy records? What about thirft stores? Skate parks? Head shops?
My interests include:
Drinking
Listening to excellent music
Rocking out
Smoking out
Probing conversation
And more!
For your information, I've posted a picture of myself, drinking High Life in the afternoon in New Orleans (Pre-flood. Obviously.)

Thanks for reading this and please know I am interested in any suggestions, or offers of friendship. I can be reached at: sumbro2000@yahoo.com
Feel free to send this to all your friends. Your Fresno friends. Thanks!

Buying Records
Hands down the best place to buy records is Spinners. They have mostly used/vintage stuff but they've got a small selection of new vinyl as well. Spinners is at 639 E Olive, right in the Tower. A few doors down is Ditrec records, selling mostly dance stuff.
welcome!
Take a look around the archives for some good info on bands, bars, and restaurants. a couple of things spring to mind-

A good string of thrift stores is downtown on Van Ness and Mono. Hope that helps, and next time you're at a show be sure to say hi!
you are at the right place for the information you seek
you'll find almost every thing you need to know here... and more information will be coming here in the future.
Has ff covered all the local Head Shops? Was there a review of all the thrift / second hand stores?
I know there has been reviews of some Bars, and music.
