The Donald has offered $10 million to take over the highly in debt Running Horse development. We would point out that that is the same amount of money raised to overthrow the Laotian government, but nobody thinks that joke is funny but us.
The PGA tour for Fresno this year has been cancelled. We win the Running Horse Is So Gonna Get Canceled pool. Channel 47, which totally misses the Trump story, says
Trump and Mayor Alan Autry talk on a regular basis, but there is no word as to when he will make a return visit to the Valley.
What do you think they talk about? We think Bubba has the natural ability to take over the Trump 'do. His wife was a hairdresser after all. Some Aqua Net and a little combing forward should do the trick.
And not to ignore the biggest Valley story of the year, thousands rallied at the State Capitol to show support of Vang Pao. A judge ruled that he should be held without bail. We're not sure he is a flight risk- where is he going to go, Laos? We sympathize with the Hmong community and wish we could show more support to Pao.
Steve SAmuelian was cleared of all charges
Assemblyman samuelian was cleared of all charges regarding hookers. Please stop maligning his character. Steve would never do anything unethical!!!! and also quit trying to ruin him on wikipedia!!!!1
Don't believe in gossip: it
Don't believe in gossip: it isn't true, there was no bankruptcy. Is this the same method of gathering information regarding transportation? Relying on advice from the status-quo sources of outdated transit technology; reinvent the wheel? Tom, that wheel is worn out. The 100 year old technology used in such system like the one being assembled in San Jose is like putting a small band-aid on a broken neck.
Check your calendar: this is the year 2008 not 1908 (when Fresno built a streetcar like the one you are talking about.) Can we advance to a new century?
CTDC has accumulated much investor interest (not from Fresno). I’ll now be spending more time at the office; we have a lot of work to do.
Thank you for your kind words here and I look forward to seeing you again walking the hallways. I’ll treat you to lunch at Tommy’s.
Actually, I do have a clue,
Actually, I do have a clue, that's why I couldn't get behind your project which recently went bankrupt...hence the address change.
I do support a public transportation system that utilizes progressive technology and is environmentally friendly. I am clear about this on my website; www.VoteTom08.com. Soon to be added to the site, is an article regarding my interest in bringing lightrail to Fresno. Funding of a successful project needs to be realistic, relying on local developers, who already refuse to pay their way via impact fees, is not realistic.
I'm sorry that I have offended you by not taking your ideas seriously. I do appreciate some of your concepts, but for the sake of our city, I rely on advice from sources who have already had significant success in other cities....why reinvent the wheel?
Good luck with your current venture Mr. Patrick, I hope you don't have to leave our building again.
mobility
Dear Mr. Boyajian, there is a much bigger project and the office used to be just down the hall from you; that you ignored, never bothering to examine. Through lots of prayer and tenacity the door isn’t bolted and is now located on the 6th floor.
Running Horse is/was a tremendous boost for that area; this post is only to encourage more focused developments to stimulate Fresno’s sagging economy.
For you, Tom, I’ll repeat what my study of Downtown has found: “There will be no revitalization of Downtown Fresno without resolving the mobility issue.” Tom, the work that the RDA has done over the past several years clearly proves there is no comprehension regarding mobility.
The recent Downtown Transportation & Infrastructure Study (DTIS) points to the Central Area Community Plan which was adopted by the City in 1989. This Plan consisted of a Concept Plan, 12 subject elements and a discussion of three special issues. The DTIS addresses Fresno's Downtown loss of economic stability from the Central Area Community Plan as follows: “There is a direct correlation between the explosion of fringe area development and the Central Area’s growing problems. The statistics of overbuilding the suburbs and loss of markets in the Central Area and other parts of the City support it. Unless a clear edge is firmly established for what will constitute the extent of the City’s geographic expansion over the next twenty years, and unless the City’s adopted plans are followed with some measure of consistency, there appears to be little basis for actually reestablishing the economic vitality, strength and property functions of the Central Area.”
How is a City to recapture economic stability? The very same thing it did when Fresno began and it grew into a WORLDWIDE destination. How did Fresno grow? With a transit system that served the entire community. City wide transportation was convenient and easy. Now days a trip across town causes stress.
Tom, why don’t you have a clue what has happened with CTDC over the past year and a half. Your lack of interest in CTDC’s Privately Funded (NO TAX INCREASE) state of the art transit system leads me to express my sentiments of concern on this blog to coincide with the question: Where are the solutions to the hard issues concerning Fresno? Transportation and poor economic conditions. CTDC’s project has the solutions: why did you and why do you continue to ignore the solutions?
Running Horse
When the concept of Running Horse was first brought to me it did have a tremendous amount of potential. Unfortunately, the project was a failure due to serious issues that were a result of mismanagement as well as undue permitting delays imposed by City Hall.
"Where Did They Go?"....hmm, lets examine that further. First, I was responsible for approaching the PGA and obtaining their interest here in Fresno, NOT Autry. While Autry spends his time catering to a multi-billionaire, who has proven himself to be interested only in taking advantage of our city, I have been in my law office listening to other investors that Autry refuses to acknowledge.
Where did I go? Well, I was termed out last January after serving 8 years on the Fresno City Council. Still, I manage to take the time that no one else in this city seems to have, to discuss these matters with investors that don't have the same fame, notoriaty & bling that Trump has relied on to steamroll his way through the legalities of this aquisition.
Where did I go....I'm right here people. And no "Orange Bear", I have never remotely approved of any wages that don't provide a sustainable and healthy lifestyle.
I welcome Orange Bear, Banker John, and anyone else, to call me at my law office to discuss the real facts of Running Horse, and the existing statutes that would never have allowed for this ridicules situation to play itself out.
Where have I gone....I suppose I would have said something much earlier had the media bothered to ask, rather than focus all the attention on our Mayor who had no interest in this matter until I brought the PGA to Fresno!
Where did they go?
Tom Boyajian is still trying to figure out why no one in Fresno wants the crappy miniscum wages jobs that are out there.
Cynthia Sterling can't run for election again so she don't care.
Steve Samuelian is probably out driving around "lost" near Parkway and Belmont.
Running Farce is dead.
Let it rest already.
Running Horse where did they go????
Running Horse has become a great partner to Fresno going into an area that other developers woudln't consider. This development will be a catalyst for other projects to revitalize a blighted area."
-Tom Boyajian, Fresno City Council, District One
"I firmly support the Running Horse project and pushed for it to become a reality. The project will provide additional homeownership opportunities and will be a wonderful addition to the area."
-Councilmemeber Cynthia Sterling, Fresno City Council, District Three
"Running Horse is a fantastic project for Fresno and the entire Valley. This is a first class development and they deserve praise and commendation for their work."
-Steve Samuelian, Past California State Assembly Member, Twenty-Ninth District
"One of the most definitive projects since my time on the city council."
-Tom Boyajian, Fresno City Council, District One
"I am pleased to support and endorse the development of Running Horse in southwest Fresno. This project will enhance the city of Fresno, both downtown and the immediate area."
-George Sinipoli, Chairman, California Veterans Board
TRUMP
wHO'S dONALD tRUMP ANY WAY
As part of the okay to Trump
we should force Trump to put some money into some downtown housing/apartments. Stop sprawl/spread and start forcing the issue of putting money back into downtown.
I read part of the article in the Bee and it said something to the effect of lost ag land. A square mile is a square mile and I'm sure a lot is/can be done with that agriculturally. For a County comprised and built upon ag money, this is something I don't like seeing.
Diablo
...hey, don't laugh too loud...
we're getting the runner ups or winners/survivors of recent 'American Idol,' contests billed as headlining acts at the Sav-a-Rena ain't we??
(...don't you sometimes just want to pull one of them aside and say,
'...sweetie,,,, look, just pick a note, any one you like, aim for it, and STICK WITH IT,,, it's okay, you can sing the rest of them later, they DON'T have to be sung all at ONCE...)
-and We have headlined on COPS...
HAHAHA!
The winner would be sooo pissed!
The Apprentice LA
Could you imagine being the Project Manager of this lucrative project as the grand prize for the next Apprentice? Now that's really putting Fresno in the map.
it's a conspiracy I tells ya...
Laos for 10 mil.
Running Horse now for 25 mil.
-and everything below ground has been moved and rebuilt (to our doom,) by 2 ft.. (if you believe the photos, drawings, and littany.)
That's it,
the numbers don't lie, I'm wearing my tin foil hat to bed fer sure...
Up Trump
Trump is now offering 25 mil' for Running Horse. You haven't won the pool yet Jarah. Check it:
http://www.fresnobee.com/406/story/57327.html
no more calls please, we have a winner.
...I mean, I can see the whole point of that Faustian Jarah-fer-the Donald swap, but I still think back East is getting the better deal...
...and my-o-my, what you can do wit 10 VERY LARGE is pretty creative grounds for some folks...
(this means if I hit the Mega, I can buy (1) Laos, (1) Running Horse and have enough left over to buy the entire back catalogue of Springsteen, Radiohead, AND all the guys of Genesis,
---and still treat a couple of friends to see ZZTop, Chrissie, and Brian and the boys --in good seats, (not great seats,) -but good...
(maybe even a half-way decent '78 Formula Firebird ta-boot..)
