Loss of Koffeeheads

It's a shame to see good people trying to make a living and invest all of their lifetime savings to bring a quality retail coffee shop to the local community to enjoy! When I read a blog from a local Fresnan wish that a local retailer be shut down because he doesn't like the coffee at The Revue, it sickens me that this person can be irrationally insensitive to the business people in this city and state that produce the revenue and pay the taxes to keep this city and state going! It is quite evident that this person is probably uneducated and ignorant, much less a coward that has never had the "guts" to become an entrepenuer to wish devestating economic ill will to anyone. If you don't like the Revue, or Riverpark, don't patronize those businesses! I've lived the first 32 years of my life in another state before moving to Fresno, and I have to admit I was shocked at the negative attitudes of native Fresnans about their city! Fresno is a beautiful city with a multitude of cry-babies! But back to being a business entrepeneur of a multi-million dollar business myself along with my husband that he started 40 years ago in a backyard barn, you have to do the marketing research of the area and the product you want to retail! Location, location, location! Parking and easy access is a problem at Villagio Shopping Center, whoever the architect was, designed the layout to cram as many retail lease business spaces without appropriate parking available (which could have been the directive from the developer personally.) From experience, you have to research all aspects when opening a retail business, including walking pedestrians (potential customers), convenient parking, drive-thru window options, etc. When competing with a corporate giant such as Starbucks, "no stone can be left unturned." I frequented Koffeeheads and enjoyed their product and atmosphere, but I still can't believe the number of people who spend $4.50 + tax on coffee daily! During my struggling years, I never had the luxury of spending that kind of money on a cup of coffee versus feeding, clothing, and educating my children! As a business owner, it appalls me how many employees are struggling to make ends meet, yet they arrive to work with a $5.00 or more coffee daily! I guess that's the difference of being an owner versus employee, I can calculate dollars and cents!
