It appears alot of native Fresnan's object to Mr. Trump buying the neglected, financially abused Running Horse golfcourse in order to revitilize west Fresno! When I moved here in 1989, I was shocked at downtown Fresno and it's many vacant, boarded up buildings, especially the Fresno City College administration building! It was quite evident that the City of Fresno was not taking advantage of state historical grants and revitilization grants available! But I noticed how many lawsuits were filed against the City for trying to revitilize! With so many "Wonders of the World," i.e., Yosemite, Sequoia, and the unbelievable fruits and vegetables grown in this valley, why is Fresno so down-beaten! It's a shame when native Fresnan's can not capitilize on their natural resources that are extremely abundant! Wake up to progress! When a city grows and the newcomers expect more, you have to give up! When I frequented downtown, I felt I was in a 3rd world country' i.e., Mexico! When I frequented the Tower District, I was appalled at all the run-down historical sites and cheesy Olive Avenue! Fresnans, frequent other cities and catch on to what's happening! Make your dollars work for you, don't fight it, because you'll only find yourself slipping into a "ghetto!" When I moved to California, I couldn't believe the animosity people have for their city! Get with the program! Make your city happening! For example, the Fresno Metroplitan Museum, there is no reason it should be delayed and costing so much due to idiots filing frivilous lawsuits! Being from a city of 7.6 milllion, trust me, the Fresno Met and the Fresno Museum are pathetic, and Fresno's youth should have the priviledge of knowing art, culture, etc. By Fresnan's fighting the cultural arts, you are doing a disservice to your community and do not care! What do people like you desire for a health, educated oriented society? Evidently, you do not care how many tax dollars you pay to build expansive prisons and juvenile hall facilities, and hope your home isn't vandalized in the interim!

South of Shaw..........My Nephews & Other family members are greatly offended if you even suggest you have to go south of Herndon for anything.... spoiled rats..maybe then again I live high on the hog in Sunnyside, but its not North Fresno...

Question for DontdoS
I agree with what dontdoS says in the post. My only question is why do you keep saying "You should do this! You shouldn't do this! dontdoS has lived in Fresno since 1989. That is 18 years or so. dontdoS is now part of Fresno so you are also part of the collective "you".
The post should be "we should do this, we should not do that".
Sad fact
The sad fact is that most of Fresnians dont care much for down town. They all want to be with tne "North of Shaw" crowd. Truth is most people who move here from other cities will never go pass shaw because of all the rumors and speculations they have heard from people whom live north of Shaw. My wife recently met a women who moved here from out of town, her husband was familiar with the town but she wasnt. All anyone ever told her was that she should venture south of Shaw. So for the last couple of years she thought that Shaw was the end of town for Fresno, how sad is that. People need to get their heads out of there a--.
