THE FUCKING CHAMPS

Ummm...hi. I am the promoter for this show. I'm also a 5th grade teacher. The name of the band is The Fucking Champs. They are an instrumental band. They don't have a negative message in their music...there are no words at all. They just happen to REALLY rock their instruments, and can back up a name like The Fucking Champs. They are fucking champion musicians. Their band name challenges you to check them out and see if they are really that good. Beyond just Champs...they are the Fucking Champs! It is a fitting name.

Now, granted, I would not go door to door posting Fucking Champs posters, but I feel like this website is an appropriate place to post their name the way the artists originally intended.

Kids raised with higher standards and expectations tend to avoid foul language when inappropriate. It won't matter if they hear it or not at that point, it'll just be something they know better than to do.

Sorry to get off the Fucking subject though...don't know the band but best of luck to them.

Not to mention we've been waiting for some kind of squash or censorship of this site since it's purchase/sale. You can bet people want to keep this site as free speech as possible.

Now, I think I got through your horrendous spelling, grammar, and double negatives (proves this really IS America) to see your point. I think you are saying that you would censor the word "FUCKING" from this band's name because that word is never appropriate for anyone's kids and shouldn't be in the "news." Right?

First off, in no way am I affiliated with this band. In fact, I have never even heard of them (or anyone else on this bill) and have no idea what they even play. I don't plan on attending the event, and could care less really.

Would I use that word in a band's name? No: I'd probably have a hard time getting others to sign / promote it with a name like that.

HOWEVER, just because YOU are offended by its name doesn't mean they should not post the FULL name of their band in its promotion, be it public or private, as you have suggested. Censorship SUCKS ASS, and people who claim to be American, vote, yet support censorship, pretty much suck ass too.

Furthermore, your response just bumped the thread back up to the top of the "new posts" section, making its viewing even more readily available, just like mine's about to do too!

Also, while the Fresno Bee bought FresnoFamous.com, I've never really viewed this website as "news." It's more like an addition or alternative to your local crappy news where people (in this case a band) can actually add to it and discuss it uncensored.

And why the heck are your children using the internet unsupervised anyway? And who are you to say what words are or are not appropriate for everyone else's kids???

NEWSFLASH: Just because you don't hear it, your kids are already using that word when you're not around, and probably much worse. I once had a six year old next door neighbor (and people wonder why I moved outta my old Tower hood) call my wife every name in the book, and then some. It ALWAYS comes down to parenting, and FREEDOM…

The f word shouldn't be used

The f word shouldn't be used in the news were young kids are able to read it. now if it was part of the bands name then write it as this: f**cking what ever way to be discrete about it. if kids what to know what it means they'll ask their parents and they the parents will deal with in their own way. If they all ready know what it means than they'll see it as there is a places and time that words like this one is not appropriate to say. which in this case the news is not being a good place because its dealing with the public.
