If the two Mars rovers, Spirit and Opportunity, manage to survive another Martian winter, they will be within range of "meeting" each other around mid-October 2006 if the mission directors wish to have them do so.

Suzi Q Cosmetics Enters the Cosmetology School Industry

Fresno, CA — On Saturday, July 14th, Suzi Q Cosmetics made its first appearance in the cosmetology school industry at the Cosmetology Educators of America (CEA) Annual Convention. The three-day convention was held in Las Vegas where it welcomed 985 attendees, which included vendors, school directors, school owners, and many cosmetology educators. Suzi Picaso, CEO of Suzi Q Cosmetics, and Orlando Viloria, Suzi Q Cosmetics Marketing Director, attended the event at the request of their marketing agency, EKO Marketing & Design, LLC.

EKO Marketing & Design, LLC, whose staff members have had several years of experience with cosmetology school marketing, recognized the need for a new cosmetics line in the industry. A newly enrolled cosmetology student is typically required to purchase a make-up kit, which provides them with a basic supply of make-up and tools necessary for their training. While there are currently a few vendors for student make-up kits, it was perceived that the students' needs were not being completely met in terms of product colors. Consequently, Suzi Q Cosmetics and EKO Marketing & Design, LLC began the strategic planning for launching Suzi Q Cosmetics into cosmetology schools.

The introduction of Suzi Q Cosmetics into the cosmetology school industry began at the CEA Annual Convention, where Suzi Picaso received an overwhelmingly positive response to her new product line. Suzi received feedback from several cosmetology educators about how their students were hungry for the newest, hottest products, things that can correlate seamlessly with the latest in fashion. Suzi was elated to hear the news since her cosmetics line is based on the same principles. Her goal was to offer women make-up that is bold, sexy, funky, and fresh, and these are characteristics that Suzi believes cosmetologists closely identify with.

"Cosmetology is an image industry," states Suzi Picaso. "It is make-up, hair, nails, and fashion. All these elements must be connected and able to compliment each other. And in the ever-changing world of fashion, it is all about the here and now — the cutting edge. I seek to offer the same through my cosmetics line."

At the CEA Annual Convention, Suzi also received an enthusiastic response to the fact that her make-up is designed for beautiful brown skin with golden or olive undertones. During her 20 years of experience with make-up artistry, Suzi found great difficulty in finding make-up for her ethnically diverse clientele. She created Suzi Q Cosmetics based on a deeply felt need for make-up that was designed for women of color such as Latinas, Asians, Middle-Easterners, etc. Suzi encountered many educators at the convention who were themselves women of color. It was her impression that they embraced her new cosmetics line as something they had an immediate personal connection with.

Suzi Q Cosmetics will be introduced to the cosmetology school industry in the form of student make-up kits. The kits will be available in three different collections, the smallest of which will include several shades of foundation, face powders, blush, lipsticks, lip glosses, lip pencils, eye shadows, eye pencils, mascaras, eyebrow enhancers, and color corrective creams. Schools will have the luxury of choosing their own colors for their kits to meet the needs of their students' clientele.

Aside from the basic allure of a quality product, cosmetology schools will be looking to Suzi Q Cosmetics for a variety of additional features. These benefits include volume discounts, school owner incentives, student scholarships, marketing support materials, new Suzi Q Cosmetics product launches, onsite demonstrations by Suzi and her team, and training for students who want to become Suzi Q Cosmetics product representatives. Always keeping her eye on the horizon, Suzi is already developing more features to support her student make-up kits, which will be released in 2008.
