Coney Island Out West

HANFORD - Summertime at Hanford's Thursday Night Market Place is full of
colorful entertainment, children laughing at the carousel and the aromas of
locally grown vegetables and pizza. That's right, pizza.

This week's Thursday Night Market Place, sponsored by Hanford's Fatte
Albert's Pizza Co., will transform into our own Coney Island Eating Contest,
not hot dogs but a massive 28" Fatte (pronounced fatty) pizza sponsored by
locally owned Fatte Albert's Pizza Co. referred to as the "Hungriest Heroes
Fatte Challenge."

Two person teams from the Hanford Fire Department, Hanford Police
Department, Kings County Fire Department, Kings County Sheriff's Department
and American Ambulance have been issued a challenge for this extra ordinary
feast. Pizza boxes, shirts, entry forms and a package of Tums were
hand-delivered to each department. The winning team will receive the entry
fee pot which will be passed on to their choice local non-profit charity.

They are challenged to bring their department's two biggest eaters in an
attempt to eat a famous 28" Fatte pizza in just 15 minutes for the title of
Kings County's Hungriest Hero. "We've only located one other pizza company
in the entire state of California that even attempt to make a pizza this
huge", says Wendy Raygoza, co-owner of Hanford's Fatte Albert's Pizza Co.
"One team has been training by ordering several of our Fatte Pizzas in the
past couple of weeks trying to get prepared for the contest", said Raygoza.

The Hungriest Heroes Fatte Challenge contest activities will begin at 7pm
sharp this Thursday on Irwin Street in front of the Thursday Night Market
Place band area. For more information, contact Fatte Albert's Pizza Co. at
585-0220 or C&H Productions at 380-5910.

Fatte Albert's Pizza Co. is a locally family owned and operated gourmet
pizza eatery with a sister restaurant in Coalinga. Hanford's restaurant is
located at 110 E. Seventh Street in downtown Hanford and can be reached
online at www.fattealbertspizzaco.com.
