It was a tough decision to make, but after 3yrs of being the co-host of INNER EAR Poetry Jam, our friend, co-hort, and one of Fresno and the valleys best spoken word poets~ Ms. Deanna Pierro, has decided the time has come to move on to other things. After her graduation from the MFA program at Fresno State earlier this year ( way to go D! ) the university smartly offered her a teaching position which she will start during the fall semester. This summer she will also be busy with a touring & recording schedule with her and Jessica Taylor's band Inflight Nymphs, plus other ambitions she plans to tackle. Because of this big work load, it would be impossible to give the EAR the attention it demands. So she has decided to step down as co-host.
As you can guess, both DJ Smack Jilly and I are saddened but strongly support our good friend and fellow artist and wish her only the best! So, this month (August) will be her last show co-hosting. Taking over the spot left open will be INNER EAR regular and friend, the poet ?ue in September.
All of us- Deanna, Smack, and myself believe ?ue will make an excellent addition to our troop! So, to all of you who get this, be sure to make it a point to come on out and see our good friend off one last time and wish her good luck on a new chapter in her creative life!
