i never have used the recent post function under my log in stuff. i usually use either the recent blogs or recent comments functions. so, i was never seeing the duplicated posts. now i see where you're looking. odd stuff.

at least I know I'm not the only one seeing this stuff...

I realize that the computer geeks who run the site, ('geek' meant in all affection,) have a lot on their plate,
-I'm sure they'll figure it out...
(they are a kind, gentle, yet harried folk who have ways with crude instruments that we do not understand in our world... (which is why, when I go to fix my computer's problems using a large crescent wrench, half a pizza and a beer? Things don't go so well...)

OOTV has it right: The repetition has been more prevalent since the update occurred. If you look in "recent posts" that is where you see the multiple listings. I don't think it the poster who duplicated it but the software is doing it.

That's really weirding me out...

Basically if I click on the 'recent posts,' section, I get the board, and it shows several different posts by different people (they say 'new,' when new, they show if somebody has added a comment,
---Then, about three quarters of the way down?
I hit the posts by Robert Pierce, (who is promo'ing several bands/events, etc...)
---Problem is?
Pierces stuff is so unbelievably replicated (down the message board,)
---that I can go back up to 8 pages until I get the stuff posted prior to any of his posts, (so if he's got several shows posted? There are in some cases a dozen or so posts of that one show, --then same amounts (or theraabouts,) of the other shows...

-On page 8 there will be an general assortment, (normal grid of subjects/posters, etc.)
---and then I'll hit more 'monster batch,' posts that will go back upwards of a page or two or FIVE...

I recall it happening a bit prior to the update, but it's like HUGE these days.
(Again, all of Robt. Pierces posts (like from today,
take up 7 to 8 pages of 'history.'

(If I'm the only one seeing this, it's quite odd, I mean, nothing else in my computer is doing weird things...)

weirdest thing, i've never seen this happen. i keep reading your posts about it, and wonder what's going on? most i've seen is 3 of the same post. perhaps it's a timing issue. like, it happens, you see it, post about it, and it gets fixed in the meantime. then, others log on, multiple posts gone, and they're bemused by your post.

so, where are they popping up? you say event, is it in the calendar?

i can't remember, was this happening before update?

anyone else catch the multi-posted posts?

What if there was some way that those who post multiple postings could remove the extra ones?

This wouldn't be somebody coming along and tearing down someone elses' post, it would be the person, (who wants to be responsible for their actions,) saying.

'...whups, I just put up an advert for my event a gazillion times, and now there are 5 pages of that post, (and you know, when people see that many pages, --they may actualy AVOID my event, -which is completely the opposite effect I want to have... hmmmm, how do I remove all but one???)

I mean, this has been happening to the board for weeks now, and some of these things piggyback, and you have to go back sometimes 8 to 10 pages just to see what was 'most recent' postings.

-I'm still not sure if this is somebody 'carpeting,' the board (which is very uncool.)
-Or a glitch somewhere...

...I am considering that this is some sort of bug, that it's a mechanical or software flaw,
-that it's a completely innocent circumstance
-that nobody with a shred of compassion for life as we know it would do such things
-that it's worse than pulling wings off a fly
-that they understand that it's the computer equivallent to carpet bombing, (and therefore would NEVER deliberately do such things...)

or is as bad as saying 'Knock - Knock'
