Sacramento's The Advantage are not new to Visalia. The band played in Visalia w/ HELLA back in June of 2006. In fact, members of Hella (and Crime In Choir-who also frequent Visalia) actually make up the band The Advantage. If you've never heard of The Advantage odds are that you've heard their music. You see, The Advantge (named after the popular 8-bit Nintendo hand-held controler) play instrumental 8-bit Nintendo video game classic songs. Super Mario Brothers, Metroid, and Castlvania are a few that stand out in my mind. Though the music is nostalgic for us twenty and thirty-somethings it is also very engaginging to watch them play. The band completely rocks, often giving the songs a much bolder and interesting flavor than the original versions.

Supporting the The Advantge is opening act Them Hills (from Nevada City). Them Hills is a straight-ahead singer/guitarist, bass, drum, rock assault trio that was hand picked by Spencer Seim (frontman of The Advantage and Hella) himself for this show.
