Your Fresno city council: do they deserve a $10,000 raise? Some of them think they do, and they may have a point.
Remember Operation Rezone? Back in the 1990's it was easy to make money as a city council person- all you had to do is take bribes from developers. Six Fresno and Clovis city council members were convicted of corruption (and there were 16 convictions in all); the whole saga bears remembering, especially in light of all the new development projects the city is touting. We find it strange that the man who gave Operation Rezone its name, Jeff Roberts (in honor of his vanity license plate that read "rezone"), is now a spokesman for Granville, part of the Vagabond Lofts team. Here's to hoping it was a crazy HR decision and that the Vagabond Lofts will be as successful as the Pearl Building.

Can't sell marijuana to anyone around here. Fresno County follows the city's lead in restricting medicinal marijuana dispensaries. These restrictions limit the number of patients growers can serve to two, potentially leaving those too sick to garden in a bit of a lurch.
