THE CAVE SINGERS (Matador Records) + PORT O'BRIEN !!!
Seattle's The Cave Singers recently signed to New York's highly respected Matador Records, and has since been dazzling audiences with their version of youthfully modern back-porch American folk stomping. Their impecable harmonies, weatherd vocal deliveries, and introspective tales make the young band appear wise beyond their years.
SPIN (October Issue): "The Cave Singers are taking a cue from the Violent Femmes' hopped-up folk, this Seattle trio brings subtle twists to seemingly simple sounds. Singer Pete Quirk combines the vigor of Fleetwood Mac's Lindsey Buckingham and the word-slurring flair of a young Michael Stipe, then adds his own neurotic charisma, making anxiety seem like a real swell time."
Co-headling band Port O'brien (Oakland) recently completed their first tour of the UK, playing Bestival and the End of the Road Festival, as well as supporting Modest Mouse on some dates. Following that trek, they played the West Coast with Bright Eyes, then a full US tour with Rogue Wave. Needless to say their buzz is really building.
