When we thought the governor of California was a bum we recalled him.
I was wondering if the city of Fresno has such a tool in the charter to do that with members of the city council. I am so curious that I will call the city on Monday to find out.
District #3 is represented by Councilwoman Sterling, a tired and bad politician if ther ever was one. She has done nothing for the district. Her term is over in 2010, but why wait, think we should send her a message.
In Fresno, folks talk about change and wait. If we can recall members of the city council, we, the people, could force their hand. What say you? Should we throw the bums out??? Councilwoman Sterling could be the first on!

Delighttful does nor mean that she can walk and chew gum ...

She does smile. Knows how to get picture in the newspaper. How horrid that she would think her job performance on the city council would make her viable in another position of public trust. Councilwoman Sterling is a perfect example of folks getting on the city council and not being able to make change.
Sterling would be a good start

Not bloody likely that it would cost that amount to recall a counciloerson. Sterling has until 2010 in office, and given the problems in District 3 and in Fresno, should think t would be a waste to allow her to remain in office. The message that would be sent to her is that the FREE ride is over and other members f council might be shocked into action.
I thought Davis was ok in my book. And the recall was rule by referendum. I voted for Davis and felt like my vote, which was in the majority, was discounted by the recall. I can't say anything about Sterling except the only time I went to City Hall she was delightful.
Who Would You Remove
Who would you remove besides Sterling? All of them? Some are terming out this year so that will settle some of it. Is the election a separate election besides the three others occurring this year at extra taxpayer cost much like when Gray Davis was recalled at a cost of $60-80 million and didn't get much better representation for it.
