STORIES of SERVICE - 5th Annual Tribute to Service

View the wartime experiences of local veterans, told in their own words, through this series of short documentary films created by youth and adult volunteers, including:
• Angelo Gonzalez, a WWII veteran who returned home from Okinawa with a Japanese flag, realizes decades later that the writing on this flag is the diary of a dead Japanese soldiers, and he must reunite the flag with the soldiers’ family.
• Arthur Drolette, a WWII Navy veteran who was serving as lookout when he witnessed a torpedo about to make direct impact with his ship.
• Betty Clark, a WWII veteran of the WAVES, reflects on her experiences as a young woman contributing to the war effort.
• Valley of Valor, a 10 minute film which includes short snippets of oral history interviews from 13 Central Valley WWII and Korean War veterans.
