I recently started going to New Stars Restaurant in Fresno on the corner of Champlain and Perrin, (1134 E. Champlain Dr. Suite 108). What a surprise!

Eaters rejoice (especially vegans, vegetarians and Tower denizens). Au Lac is open.

Around this time of year, the farmer's markets abound with great stir-fry ingredients. You should be able to find all the vegetables in this recipe at a local farmer's market; even the garlic.

We take a look at the Arts District's Broadway Row project, and find there are competing visions for these two downtown blocks.

I have had some bad Mexican ice cream.

For this issue's dish, we take advantage of Japanese eggplant and several other tasty vegetables that are now in season and available at local farmer's markets.

Here in Kumarland, we are nothing if not efficient. Unfortunately Kumar's imminent book deal has yet to fall into place so he's forced to spend most of his days slaving away, far from the kitchen.

This week we'll continue on last week's burrito theme. I figure, if you're going to have a burrito, you'd better make salsa so you don't have to buy that Tostitos stuff.
