Jefferson Beavers

about me: Jefferson Beavers is a native of Dinuba, California. He was a newspaper journalist for 12 years, most recently as a copy editor and news designer at The Fresno Bee. He currently teaches classes in the Mass Communication and Journalism Department at Fresno State, where he's the adviser to the campus newspaper, The Collegian.
Jefferson earned his Master of Fine Arts degree in creative writing from Fresno State, with an emphasis in creative nonfiction, in May 2007. His work has appeared or is forthcoming in the San Joaquin Review, In The Grove, Pachuco Children Hurl Stones, and here on the citizen media website FresnoFamous.com.
Jefferson is an indie film and music lover and fancies himself a fountain of scattershot facts about the central San Joaquin Valley. He is fond of writing about himself in third-person. Jefferson would like to write some stuff and someday get published, but would be happy to keep his reasonably steady job and a pick up a few new CDs.
